About H2Koi

H2Koi is built by IQTEK LLC, a water-quality company based in Miami, Florida, with operations in the United States and Hong Kong. The instruments that watch koi ponds come out of more than ten years spent measuring water in harder places than a garden.

Where this comes from

Before H2Koi there was waste water, fresh water and aquaculture — settings where a sensor is expected to sit in difficult water for months and keep telling the truth about it. That work is where the choices in these instruments were formed: industrial-grade sensors rather than hobby probes, a self-cleaning wiper because fouling is what actually ends a deployment, and continuous measurement because the readings that matter are the ones nobody is awake to take.

IQTEK LLC was founded in 2016; the koi work began the year after. A koi pond is a small volume holding fish worth more than the pond, which makes it unusually unforgiving: the parameters move fast, and the failures that kill are the quiet overnight ones.

How it is built

H2Koi is designed, built and supported by a team at IQTEK LLC — the people who specify the hardware, write the firmware, run the servers and answer the support mail. Support does not route to a call centre. The people who answer are the people who built the instrument.

The watch itself does not depend on anyone being awake. Alerts and trend data run on hosted servers that stay up independently, and a sensor that develops a hard fault raises the alarm on its own and is replaced under warranty.

What we do not claim

H2Koi measures water. It is not a diagnosis of disease or parasites, and it will not tell you why a fish is sitting on the bottom if the chemistry is sound. What it does is remove the excuse that nobody saw it coming: continuous readings, and an alert when a number leaves the range you set.
